“The Power of the Performer: Baroque Performance Practice at the Keyboard”
Baroque repertoire allows the performer to exercise liberty in embellishment, timing, and accentuation. I will demonstrate how ornamentation and embellishment, expressive harpsichord techniques, and principles of Baroque dance can be applied to form unique and stylistically informed performances at the piano.

“Strategies for Minimizing Performance Anxiety”
In this session, Josh will take us through multiple strategies for overcoming performance anxiety and dealing with nerves. Performing under pressure is a separate skill from practicing, and if one is to play his or her best, one must hone this skill just as they would with any skill at the piano. Multiple strategies and techniques for minimizing or overcoming this hurdle will be explored in this session, whether you’re preparing for a small recital or an international competition. A Q&A session will conclude this presentation, with students being able to ask any questions they have about this important topic.
